Pastor Jason was called to serve Zion as full-time pastor in October 2025. A graduate of Wartburg Theological Seminary, Pastor Jason has spent over 23 years in parish ministry and is considered a "second career" pastor; having had a successful career in the hospitality industry prior to entering seminary in 2014. Pastor Jason has served in a variety of ministry contexts, including youth ministry and synod ministries. His ministry is informed by a deep commitment to welcome, equality, justice, and the radical hospitality of the Gospel.
At Zion, Pastor Jason is guiding us through a season of redevelopment as we discern how our large physical space can be transformed for good with a focus on adaptive reuse into affordable housing. He draws on his real-world approach to ministry and extensive past experience to help the congregation meet the changing landscape of the Christian church in the 21st century. Pastor Jason is especially passionate in preaching, worship, and creating spaces where everyone is invited to experience the unconditional grace of God as their authentic selves.
Beyond the congregation, Pastor Jason serves on the boards of Fox Valley Lutheran Homes (Linwood Community) and Known by Name Collective. He also serves on the planning team for Fox Valley Pride and is a member of the Wisconsin LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce.
Jason lives in the Fox Valley with his husband Dan. He is a lover of the outdoors, travel, The Big Bang Theory, and a good cup of coffee.
"I am convinced that the church is most itself when its doors - and its heart - are wide open."
